I love reggae and ska, mostly older stuff though. Y'all should check out The Aggrolites. They're a current reggae band from L.A. but have an old school sound to them. The lead singer sounds like Toots from Toots and the Maytals. Good stuff. Their self titled album is the best of their work in my opinion.

I like Reggae. Bob Marley is great! There's something about listening to that kind of music that puts you in a good mood.

Post 15 by Albanac (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 16-Nov-2007 8:11:55

it's good mood music that's for sure. some great artists out there. always have been. and the man as far as producers go? scratch! of course. Ya just gotta love a guy who travels round Kingston in an open top bus with a toaster on his head "because" he said, "i am, a toaster". .. give up the weed scratch, it's no good to ya mate. hell of a producer though as i said.

It is good smoking weed music.

I have to agree with most folks. Much as I like reggae, as well as classic rocksteady and ska, I just can't get into the dancehall style and all the stuff that started coming out in the Eighties. It's the classic rootsy stuff for me and I especially love dub.

Post 18 by dj outrage (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Thursday, 12-Mar-2009 10:25:28

oh yes! love old and new reggae, everything from jah cure to marly, and love dub! especially al the trogen stuff etc
